"Recovery is not just for the few, but for the many - we are all broken"

Who We Are

Life Recovery Fellowship C.I.C. exists to help people rebuild their lives after addiction, trauma and other harmful life experiences. Whether facing dependency, relationship breakdown, family instability or emotional crisis, we offer a pathway to healing—grounded in Christian faith, practical recovery tools and the power of community.

At the heart of our approach is the Recovery for Life Twelve Steps model, which blends biblical principles with proven recovery methods. Through church-based groups and recovery pastors, we walk with people as they move from chaos to stability, from isolation to connection, from survival to hope.

We work collaboratively with local churches and community organisations to provide holistic, wrap-around care. Many of our group members also access support in areas such as:

  • Debt and financial hardship
  • Food insecurity
  • Mental health and emotional wellbeing
  • Healthy living and lifestyle changes

We believe in walking with the whole person—not just helping them stop using, but helping them start living.

Why We're Needed

Across the UK, rising numbers of people are experiencing crisis—not just due to substance misuse, but because of issues such as trauma, poor mental health, poverty and relationship breakdown. Many have nowhere safe to turn. Others fall between the cracks of overstretched services or struggle to engage with traditional settings.

Life Recovery Fellowship offers a different kind of group recovery:

  • Faith-rooted but open to all backgrounds and beliefs
  • Peer-led, by people with lived experience of recovery
  • Church-connected, helping reduce stigma and rebuild trust
  • Structured and welcoming, using the Recovery for Life Steps and The Life Recovery Bible

Our groups are often the first place someone feels truly seen, accepted and supported. And from there, change becomes possible.

“I was already a Christian but couldn’t stop drinking. This group helped me to stop"

“It was the first time I felt I could talk about the pressure I was under without fear of being judged"

We see lives transformed—and it all starts with a group, a welcome and a shared commitment to recovery.

Recovery Meetings

We have a number of 12 Step Life Recovery Meetings throughout the United Kingdom. The meeting focuses on stories of recovery from addictions and dependencies and any life issue that has caused you to feel apart from Life.

The recovery stories are from the Life Recovery Workbook and we also compliment the workbook with readings from The Life Recovery Bible.

Each week we discuss one of the 12 Steps and you are more than welcome to join us at anytime.

Please see the following meeting link to see more details if when and where the meetings are being held.

"One bright sunny day a couple were walking along the beach and when they looked towards the shore they saw thousands of star fish that had been washed up. Further along the beach they saw a young boy that was picking up the star fish and placing them back in the Ocean. The man said to the boy “why are you putting them star fish back in the water, there are too many of them to make a difference” the young boy picked up another star fish and gently placed it back into the sea, he then looked at the couple and said “it makes a difference to that one."
